Inspired by You

Marriott / Chase

The "Inspired by You" campaign followed real people's passions and how those passions lead to adventures all over the world. I developed this 360° campaign from inception through completion as a fresh approach to travel tapping content creators as talent for our campaign with a social-first approach and aesthetic that also encompassed video, digital, OOH, print advertising, email campaigns and direct mail. Our goal was to inspire millennial travelers to get out there—while being empowered to do so by the Marriott rewards card. This approach helped travel feel more human, personal, and enabled our campaign to break through the sea of sameness in the travel industry. We all love long walks on the beach, but travel can also provide deeper connection to discover new things about ourselves and other people. We were fortunate to have clients who firmly believed in the good of travel to break down barriers and find common ground. Whether it's pet-friendly roadtrips, unique foods, or unwinding in hot springs after hitting the slopes, we told stories you can relate to, and shared the adventures we all seek. 

We identified content creators for the campaign over multiple years and evolutions of the Marriott brand to build a library of diverse stories from different perspectives. We captured unboxings with the card and souvenirs, and turned our creators into brand ambassadors as well as talent in our paid advertising and branded content series.

Seeing Both Sides

As part of our campaign, we launched a branded content series with Vox that I helped direct. The duality of our campaign to inspire personal passions empowered by travel was the strategy behind CONNECTIONS: See Both Sides. We tapped some of our brand ambassadors and travel enthusiasts to create a series where we set off to multiple destinations and explore them from two perspectives—classic and modern design in Barcelona, fire and ice outdoor adventures in Chile, and experiencing the day and night in Buenos Aires. Content shoots have been an incredible opportunity to tap my own passion storytelling and background in film.
